of our clay community
Claypit Members are at the heart of our community. Some come to quietly focus and build their skills, others come for the joy of making alongside friendly faces — there’s room for every style of maker here.
Membership is for people who feel confident working with clay independently, with the freedom to create in their own way and the support of a warm, welcoming studio around them.
As a member, you’ll have access to the studio for 12 or 16 three‑hour sessions every quarter, plus firing space and lots of other helpful benefits. Membership runs on a three‑month cycle so you can fit clay into your life in a way that works for you. Fees can be paid upfront or in three monthly instalments.
Membership Option 1
Cost per quarter: £219 (or 3 x monthly instalments of £73)
Number of 3hr sessions: 12 x 3hr sessions
Clay: bulk buy prices
Firing: All bisque firing included. Glaze firing at £2.50 per litre
Membership Option 2
Cost per quarter: £285 (or 3 x monthly instalments of £95)
Number of 3hr sessions: 16 x 3hr sessions
Clay: Bulk buy prices
Firing: All bisque firing included. Glaze firing £2.50 per litre
Why become a Claypit Member?
No studio set up cost! No more working from the kitchen table/spare room, or alone in a cold damp shed! No reclaim! No expensive kiln to fire or maintain! You will definitely learn a lot, from each other and from our wonderful experienced tutors who are always happy to help. We are supportive, we are generous, we want you to find what you need from developing ideas, personal style, glazing tips to a friendly natter!

Time Exchange
We are committed to opening studio access to as many people as possible and have some capacity for Time Exchange agreements. If you are willing to spend some time doing some back of house work in exchange for studio access sessions then get in touch! Offers will be made on an individual basis.
