Ceramics For All
All are welcome on this 2.5 hour weekly clay course designed to help you discover and grow your clay skills and confidence, making by hand and on a potter's wheel

Our three‑stage pathway helps you grow in confidence starting with simple guided mini‑projects and progressing to creating your own ideas in clay
You are invited to taker this course multiple times as you follow the Claypit pathway designed to get you from beginner to confidant maker. Each course consists of five weeks of making followed by one week of glazing your fired work. Initially you will DISCOVER handbuilding though guided mini-project and learn the basics of making a pot on a wheel. You will BUILD on these skills with fun exercises and projects designed to supercharge your creativity. By Beginner Level 3 you will be designing and CREATing your own work with individual support. We teach this course in a part‑self‑directed way, helping you develop the skills you need to make the work you feel excited about.
We warmly welcome all at Beginner Levels 1, 2 or 3 in the same session; learning with and alongside others forms the core of the Claypit experience. Maximum class size of 8. Suitable for adults and children 11+ with an accompanying paying adult
What's Included? High-quality teaching in a small class. All materials and up to five finished fired items, tea, coffee and good chats
Beginner 1: DISCOVER Simple guided mini-projects. The focus is on discovering clay and building confidence adding a personal flare to each project
Beginner 2: BUILD More challenging mini-projects to practice techniques, support creative decisions with an emphasis on play and curiosity
Beginner 3: CREATE Start making your own work with guidance and individual support, and begin to explore your own style
Missed Classes:
If you can't make a session we will do our best to offer you a replacement at a different time, depending on availability. Replacement sessions will be limited to one and must be taken during the same term.
