Ceramics For All
2.5 hour weekly general clay making course learning both handbuilding and the basics of making on a potter' wheel

When: Thursdays 10am-12.30pm and 6.30pm-9pm Cost: £185
All are welcome on this weekly course designed to boost your clay-confidence, give you foundation skills and knowledge, and introduce you to the benefits of working with clay.
On this course you will initially follow Claypit handbuilding mini-projects guided by our excellent tutor Rachel to give them your own creative spin. Your will try your hand at 'throwing' on a potters wheel to make small pots, bowls or if you are lucky a mug! This course is very flexible to enable to make the things you want to make at your own pace. You will use basic decoration techniques at all stages include glazing your work. You are encouraged to take this course multiple times to grow your skills and confidence. Each term will have new starter projects or bring your own creative ideas and get all the support you need to turn them into reality! Maximum class size of 8. Suitable for adults and children 11+ with an accompanying paying adult. Firing charges apply on this course. See below.

Week 1 - Slab pots and pinch pots
Week 2 - Decorating and refining
Week 3 - Wheel making
Week 4 - Coil pots
Week 5 - Decorating, refining, turning
Week 6 - Glazing
Firing Charges:
Only pay for what you chose to fire. Your creations will be weighed by us after firing and charged at £1.30 per 100g, payable by card on collection. An average size mug will cost around £3.50, bowl £5, jug £6, vase £7.
Missed Classes:
If you can't make a session we will do our best to offer you a replacement at a different time, depending on availability. Replacement sessions will be limited to one and must be taken during the same term.
