4 Week - Intermediate Throwing

A 2.5 hour weekly throwing course for those wanting to advance their making skills
An incredible opportunity to learn with Andrew Richards, a professional production potter with 39 years’ experience. To take part in this course you must already have basic wheel making skills and an understanding of the mechanics of working with clay. The course will be structured however there will be ample opportunity for Andrew to help you focus on any specific interests or challenges. After the course your work will be fired and glazed for you in one of our in-house glazes, ready for collection approximately 4 weeks later. Maximum of 8 participants. Week I
Making a set of mugs and jugs looking at different handles and repetitive throwing practice
Week 2
Lids and galleries including throwing off the hump
Week 3
Repeat forms and speed throwing creating teabowl and drinking vessel shapes
Week 4
Practicing a chosen technique
Firing Charges:
Only pay for what you chose to fire. Your creations will be weighed by us after firing and charged at £1.30 per 100g, payable by card on collection. An average size mug will cost around £3.50, bowl £5, jug £6, vase £7.
